Our Teachers

Our highly trained and experienced teaching staff is led by Senior YogaWorks Teacher and Teacher Trainer Edwin Bergman. Most of our teachers have completed the world renowned and highly respected YogaWorks Teacher Training which puts an emphasis on precise aligment along with flowing movement and whose graduates include many of the top names in yoga today.  Our roots can be found in Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, but our quality classes are accessible to all disciplines and styles.

Edwin Bergman, ERYT500

Edwin began practicing Yoga in 1989 in New York City.  Over the last 20+ years, he has practiced and studied with many great teachers in the YogaWorks, Iyengar, Integral and Anusara schools of yoga. He is registered as experienced (E-RYT500) with Yoga Alliance and has 500-hour training certifications through both Integral Yoga and YogaWorks.  He has also completed the 100-hour Anusara Immersion Training. For several years, Edwin has been traveling the world, leading the renowned YogaWorks Teacher Training program ` which he now offers in Miami.  Edwin teaches in the signature YogaWorks Style, which balances precise instruction, alignment, breath and fluid movement.  Prior to teaching Yoga Edwin was the creator and host of “You are the light”- an inspirational Cable TV program- in New York and Los Angeles for 15 years.  Visit his website at www.edwinbergman.com

Peter Goodman, ERYT500

Peter is Yoga Alliance RYT 500 Hour trained teacher and a Certified Anusara® yoga teacher.  He has been practicing yoga for 18 years and has had the great honor and pleasure of traveling worldwide to study with many of yoga’s finest teachers.    Peter teaches internationally and in Miami through classes, private instruction and training programs for the more serious student. Students love Peter’s playful spirit, his therapeutic approach and hands on adjustments.

Sharon Hartley

Sharon attended her first yoga class in 1985 and felt herself transformed by the unique combination of peace and energy in the room.  In 2010, she closed her business to devote more time to writing, teaching yoga, and orchids, her three passions.   Sharon is a Registered Yoga Teacher and received her formal teacher training through YogaWorks.   She teaches a gentle, contemplative style of yoga, urging her students to let go of any competitive mindset, to accept and love their bodies just as they are at the present moment.   Sharon believes yoga is for every body and wants to share her knowledge and love of this ancient practice.

Andy Herrman

Andy began his yoga training in New York City with Cyndi Lee and Elena Brower.  When he moved to Miami 5 years ago, he dove into power yoga teacher training with Paul Toliuszis and Fred Busch and has been teaching ever since.  Andy teaches a mixed style class influenced by various yoga practices as well as his dance and performance background.  Classes are designed to increase strength, flexibility, alignment, balance and inner peace.

KIra Miska

Kira found yoga at the age of 16 in search of self-acceptance.  After completing a B.A in Philosophy, she dove heart-first into a Karma Yoga practice at the Mandala Yoga Ashram in South Wales.  Kira has since completed 600 hours of Yoga Alliance training and has studied many styles including Bikram, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Jivamukti, and Restorative Yoga.  Presently, she is finishing a masters program at the University of Miami and embarking on an Ayruvedic-based business of herbal remedies. Kira’s style of teaching mirrors life ~ full of night and day, sweetness and strength ~ she aims to help her students fine-tune alignment, not only in the physical body, but also in life.

Alissa Stein

Alissa began practicing yoga regularly after attending a Yoga Journal conference in celebration of her 50th birthday.  Suffering from chronic low back and shoulder pain, as well as TMJ, she found that through the consistent practice of yoga her symptoms diminished considerably, and over time, disappeared.  She embarked on a journey of healing and restoration culminating in teaching certification in the Skanda and YogaWorks methodologies.  Alissa also has a BA in Early Childhood Education & Art History, in addition, to her Masters in Early Childhood & Special Education. She also earned her Reiki 1 & 2 certifications and is currently studying Sacred Embodiment- Subtle Body Energy with Ganesha, Michael Shapiro.  Mid-life has taught Alissa that you do not need to have a “flexy-bendy” body to begin, and with practice, all things will come.

Ilana Salk

Ilana is a certified Yoga Therapist and holds a Bachelors Degree in Public Health from the University of Maryland. Her passion and aim in life is to help people acquire optimal health through yoga. She received a 200 hour Power Vinyasa certification from Just Breathe Yoga studios and a 500 hour certification in Gentle Therapeutics Yoga under Allaine Stricklen. Inspired by teachers around the country ~ and travels in India ~ she also has additional training in prenatal, restorative and chair yoga.

Greg Waters

Greg came to yoga late in life after decades as a competitive swimmer and triathlete.  His interest in yoga built gradually as he exerimented with different styles of yoga and teachers in Chicago where he worked in marketing & advertising.  When he moved to Miami as a 2008 Teach For America corps member he began to take yoga more seriously, and in 2011 he took the 200 hour YogaWorks Teacher Training with Edwin Bergman and then opened YOGA THAT in 2012.  With dedication (practice) and fearlessness (detachment) all things are possible.  Greg is living proof that yoga adventures can begin at any time in life and you never know where they may lead....

Farrah Yaspe

Farrah is an Anusara Inspired Yoga teacher who began her yoga practice in 2007, and quickly realized she had found the greatest passion of her life.  She began teaching in 2009 to share the happiness and joy that yoga brought to her life. Farrah has studied with Juan Carlos Sánchez and Esteban Salazar, the latter an Inspired Anusara Yoga teacher. She has deepened her practice with a variety of certified Anusara teachers such as Jaye Martin, Kenneth Graham and Noah Mazé.  She helps students connect to their inner selves, strengthen their self esteem and improve their lives through the practice of yoga.  Armed with a BA in psychology, she has expanded into a holistic approach incorporating yoga to teach her students enhanced methods of emotional and spiritual healing in group and private practice.

Emily Zoldan

 

Emily discovered yoga in 2000 and the simple yet compelling feeling of coming back to oneself  ~ with a quiet mind, still and revitalized body and spirit ~ motivated Emily to deepen her practice and begin living the yogic life off the map.  Having completed a BA in Communications and Cultural Studies and minoring in World Religious Studies, Emily has found that yoga truly speaks a universal language of peace, love and encourages self knowledge and discovery.   She complete her 200 hr certification with YogaWorks in Pacific Palisades, California in 2011 and is a registered yoga teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance.   Emily's focus in the studio is to encourage proper alignment, creating space and building  body and mind awareness, breath-work to create a meditative flow, while using visualizations, positive affirmations and fun spirited energy to encourage playfulness and self-acceptance. Emily is also very passionate about reading, world music, and considers herself quite the foodie.
