Edwin is one of the founders of YOGA THAT and began practicing Yoga in 1989 in New York City. Over the last 20+ years, he has practiced and studied with many great teachers in the Iyengar, YogaWorks, Integral and Anusara schools of yoga. He is registered as experienced (E-RYT500) with Yoga Alliance and has 500-hour training certiﬁcations through both Integral Yoga and YogaWorks. Claudia believes that yoga silences all that overwhelms us: the noise of our busy inner and outer worlds. Even though the goal is stilling the mind, achieving that goal is dependent on rigor, alignment and commitment. Claudia began practicing yoga in 1989 at Kripalu, eventually teaching Kripalu yoga in the Boston area. Since moving to Miami, Claudia discovered first YogaWorks and then Iyengar Yoga. Although she is now a student of various inspired Iyengar instructors including, John Schumacher, Ramanand Patel, Carrie Owerko, Rebecca Lerner, Bobbi Goldin, and Katrin Loveland, Edwin Bergman is her teacher. Claudia is certified in YogaWorks and has completed a 100 hour Kripalu immersion. Passionate about alignment, she is working towards getting certified to teach Iyengar.
Sharon attended her first yoga class in 1985 and felt herself transformed by the unique combination of peace and energy in the room. In 2010, she closed her business to devote more time to writing, teaching yoga, and orchids, her three passions. Sharon is a Registered Yoga Teacher and received her formal teacher training through YogaWorks. She teaches a gentle, contemplative style of yoga, urging her students to let go of any competitive mindset, to accept and love their bodies just as they are at the present moment. Sharon believes yoga is for every body and wants to share her knowledge and love of this ancient practice.
Andy began his yoga training in New York City with Cyndi Lee and Elena Brower. When he moved to Miami 5 years ago, he dove into power yoga teacher training with Paul Toliuszis and Fred Busch and has been teaching ever since. He recently completed a second teacher training in the YOgaWorks style with Edwin Bergman. Andy teaches a mixed style class influenced by various yoga practices as well as his dance and performance background. Classes are designed to increase strength, flexibility, alignment, balance and inner peace.
Alissa began practicing yoga regularly after attending a Yoga Journal conference in celebration of her 50th birthday. Suffering from chronic low back and shoulder pain, as well as TMJ, she found that through the consistent practice of yoga her symptoms diminished considerably, and over time, disappeared. She embarked on a journey of healing and restoration culminating in teaching certification in the Skanda and YogaWorks methodologies. Alissa also has a BA in Early Childhood Education & Art History, in addition, to her Masters in Early Childhood & Special Education. She also earned her Reiki 1 & 2 certifications and is currently studying Sacred Embodiment- Subtle Body Energy with Ganesha, Michael Shapiro. Mid-life has taught Alissa that you do not need to have a “flexy-bendy” body to begin, and with practice, all things will come.
Allaine has been practicing Yoga for over 40 years and she has studied all over the world. She is the creator of Gentle Therapeutics Yoga, a method utilizing props to restore the body’s balance and vitality. She is Certified by the Yoga Alliance as a Master Yoga Instructor, is a Certified Scoliosis Specialist and has studied with Elise Browning-Miller, a Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Allaine believes that Yoga is for everybody and every body. Her mission is to help students release old patterns that do not serve a higher purpose. Lois is a life long resident of Miami Beach and stepped into her first yoga class after years of tennis, jogging and swimming. She was transformed by the power of yoga to heal, expand and create a sense of freedom for her body. She became certified in Hatha yoga with Peter Barber (2001) and studied Anusara yoga with John Friend. She received her Anusara Inspired certification in 2006. She has also studied Bikram and Iyengar yoga. She is registered E-RYT 200 and RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance. Her class flows with an inspirational theme and students will leave feeling uplifted and joyful.
Greg came to yoga after decades as a competitive swimmer and triathlete. His interest in yoga built gradually ~ experimenting with different yoga styles and teachers. When he moved to Miami as a 2008 Teach For America corps member he began taking yoga more seriously, leading to completing the 200 hour YogaWorks Teacher Training with Edwin Bergman and then opening YOGA THAT in 2012. Greg is a native of Chicago where he was a marketing and advertising executive in a variety of industries. Greg believes that with dedication and fearlessness ~ or practice and detachment according to the Yoga Sutras ~ all things are possible.

Emily discovered yoga in 2000 and the simple yet compelling feeling of coming back to oneself ~ with a quiet mind, and a revitalized body and spirit ~ motivated Emily to deepen her practice and live the yogic life. She complete her 200 hour certification with YogaWorks in Pacific Palisades, California in 2011 and is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. Emily's focus in the studio is to encourage proper alignment, creating space and building body and mind awareness, breath-work to create a meditative flow, while using visualizations, positive affirmations and fun spirited energy to encourage playfulness and self-acceptance. She has a BA in Communications and Cultural Studies and a minor in World Religious Studies. Emily is also very passionate about reading and world music.
